Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-18-v1 · Effective October 18, 2026
Who these Terms cover
These Terms govern your use of Counselora, an AI-assisted workspace for adult school counselors and other adult education professionals. Contact Counselora at hello@counselora.com. Counselora is the operating name of this service.
You must be at least 18, provide accurate account information, and have authority for any organization you represent. Keep your sign-in credentials private and notify us of suspected unauthorized access. A personal subscription does not by itself establish a school or district data-processing agreement.
Educational drafting and professional review
Cora generates drafts, not professional determinations. Review and edit every output for accuracy, appropriateness, accessibility, potential bias, and your school’s policies before using it. AI output may contain mistakes, omissions, or material similar to other users’ output.
Counselora does not provide diagnosis, treatment, emergency response, legal advice, or a substitute for your professional responsibilities. Follow your school’s established safeguarding and emergency procedures. Do not rely on the service to decide eligibility, discipline, diagnosis, or other high-impact outcomes about a person.
Student information and acceptable use
Use fictional or generic scenarios. Do not submit identifiable student records, names, contact information, student IDs, individual health or counseling records, or other confidential information about a person in prompts, saved documents, or support requests. Removing a name alone may not make a scenario anonymous.
Do not use the service to violate law, school policy, intellectual-property rights, or another person’s privacy; upload content you lack authority to use; attempt unauthorized access; interfere with service security; or share an account to evade usage limits. Student accounts and direct student use are not offered under these Terms. Contact us before any use requiring a school data agreement or regulated health-information processing.
Your content and generated work
You retain your rights in content you submit. You permit Counselora and its service providers to process that content as needed to provide the requested features, store your saved work, maintain security, and provide support. You are responsible for having the necessary rights and permissions.
You may use and adapt generated materials for your educational work, subject to applicable law and third-party rights. We do not promise that AI output is unique, copyrightable, or free of third-party claims. Counselora retains rights in its software, branding, and other service materials. These Terms do not transfer ownership of your uploaded content to us.
Free credits and Plus
New free accounts receive five AI credits once, not five each month. A new AI draft or AI revision uses one credit. Plus includes 50 credits per calendar month, resetting at the start of the month in UTC on either billing interval. Credits do not roll over and are not cash or transferable value. Manual editing, saving, and supported exports do not use AI credits. Failed drafts do not consume a completed-use credit, though a temporary reservation may appear while a request is being resolved.
New Plus subscriptions cost USD9 per month or USD79 per year, as shown at checkout. Annual billing charges USD79 for a year; it does not provide 600 immediately available credits. Existing recurring subscribers retain their existing subscription price unless a change is separately disclosed and handled as required by law. AI availability and usage limits may be constrained during the pilot; no unlimited availability is promised.
Renewal, cancellation, and refunds
A paid subscription automatically renews at its disclosed billing interval until canceled. By separately agreeing to recurring billing at purchase, you authorize recurring charges under the checkout terms. A free account does not automatically become a paid subscription.
Manage or cancel your subscription online through Your plan → Manage billing. Cancellation stops future renewals and normally leaves paid access available through the end of the paid period; it does not itself erase your account or saved work. If the billing portal is unavailable, contact hello@counselora.com for assistance. We will provide notices required by applicable law for renewals or material billing changes.
We do not offer a general refund guarantee. Send refund requests to hello@counselora.com; we review them individually. This policy does not limit any nonwaivable refund, cancellation, or other rights under applicable law. Do not assume that deleting an account or unsubscribing from marketing cancels a paid subscription.
Availability, account closure, and changes
Features may change or become temporarily unavailable. We may restrict use that threatens security, violates these Terms, or creates legal obligations to act. Where appropriate and lawful, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue. Export work you need to retain; Counselora is not a records-retention system for student records.
You may request account closure or deletion by emailing hello@counselora.com. We may need to verify the request and retain limited billing, acceptance, security, or other records where required or permitted by law. Cancel recurring billing separately before requesting deletion. Material Terms changes will be identified with an updated version and communicated as appropriate; changes are not a retroactive acceptance of new paid terms.
Disclaimers, responsibility, and applicable law
To the extent permitted by law, the service and AI output are provided as available without warranties of accuracy, suitability, uninterrupted service, or fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing excludes a warranty, remedy, or liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude, including responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited.
You remain responsible for your independent use and review of materials. These Terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver. California law governs to the extent permitted by applicable law, without depriving you of mandatory protections available where you live. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent lawful. Contact hello@counselora.com with questions or concerns.
